SIMLAW SEEDS history runs back to 9 October 1929 when two English gardeners Simpson and Whitelaw registered it as a company then under the Indian companies act 1882.
In 1965, two brothers Peter and John Savage who later sold it to Mitchell Cotts Group of companies dealt in fertilizers, chemicals and seeds took up the ownership.

In 1968 Kirchoff East Africa, acquired the company whose headquarters? was in South Africa.
Kirchoff East Africa dealt specifically in imported flowers, herbs and legumes from Denmark, France United Kingdom and Holland. Simlaws also sources some of its seeds from the mentioned countries.
In 1976,the management of Kirchoff adopted the name Simpson and Whitelaw.
Kenya Seed Company acquired Simpson and Whitelaw in 1979 and thus renamed it Simlaw Seeds Company limited.

Simlaw Seeds Company Limited was registered in 2002 and retained the name Simpson and Whitelaw shortened Simlaws Seeds.
Simlaw seed deals in horticultural and agricultural seeds that are distributed throughout the East Africa Region.

Its main responsibility is in importing, producing, marketing and distributing quality and genuine seeds for commercial and domestic use. The company has a wide range of horticultural and agricultural seeds that have penetrated the markets well and includes Cabbages e.g. Pruktor F1 and Riana F1which have been known to be high yeilders .The Onions and Tomato varieties are adaptable to various climatic conditions thus adequately meeting the local demand. The Carrot Nantes has also proved to be of high demand.
Our Collards Sukuma Wiki (Simlaw Select) has been developed to give higher yields and a longer harvesting period.

Of the indigenous vegetables we have seeds for Black Nightshade (managu), Spider Plant (Saget) and Amaranthus (Terere), which are highly nutritious and do not require many inputs to flourish. In addition to this, we also stock a variety of herbs and flowers seeds.
The agricultural seeds distributed include, Hybrid Maize for the High, Medium and Low altitudes, Pastures, and several Bean varieties such as Rose coco, Wairimu, Mwitemania and Mwezi Moja.
We offer other farm requirements such as fertilizers, sprayers and agrochemicals.
Simlaw seeds continuously strive to sustain the country?s diet and tastes by producing and distributing a wide range of exotic and indigenous horticultural seeds.
